James Ernest Engels

James Ernest Engels, age 96, of Redfield, died at his residence Saturday, March 1, 2014. Mr. Engels was born Oct. 22, 1917, in Manitowoc, Wis., the son of the late Floyd and Mathilda Kellner Engel. He was reared and received his education in Manitowoc. He moved to Redfield in 1993. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army and had worked for CSX Railroad as a yardman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Ann Barton Engels, whom he married April 29, 1990, in Florida. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Sheldon (Tony) and Vicki Colon (Ceasar); grandchildren, James Eagen, Donald Eagen, Susan Eagen, Kim Sheldon and William Sheldon; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at the Calvary Lighthouse Church with Reverend Sammy Alverson officiating.
