Mrs. Heather Lavender Perkins, age 40 of Yorktown, Va., formerly of Hope, Ark. passed away, Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Yorktown, Va. Heather was born in Texarkana, Texas on Jan. 29, 1974 to J. Leland Lavender Jr. and Connie Johnson Lavender. She was a loving mother, a home maker and she attended the Peninsula Community Chapel in Yorktown, Va. Heather had a variety of hobbies and interests, which included; photography, craft work, doing volunteer work and sightseeing. She is survived by her husband, Chief Master Sergeant Tim Perkins of Yorktown, Va.; two sons, Ronnie Dovish of Yorktown, Va., PFC David Perkins of Twentynine Palms, Calif.; two daughters, Keeley Dovish of Yorktown, Va., Devon Kae Perkins of Decatur, Ill.; her father, J. Leland Lavender Jr. of Houston, Texas; her mother; Connie Lavender of Hope; her brother, Leland Lavender, his wife Peggy, their children, Lindsey, Jarod, Macey, Mason, LeAnn and Taylor all of Cabot, Ark.; her sister, Lilac Lavender Boskila; her children, Noah, Elden, Anabelle and Aidan all of Destin, Fla.; other family member and friends. Visitation; 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope. Funeral service, 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Brazzel/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope with Chief Master Sergeant Richi Buford conducting the service and Colonel Matt Kmon doing the eulogy.
