Daniel Berry age 65, of Jacksonville passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014. He was born on June 26, 1948 in Greenville, South Carolina, the youngest of four siblings to Lula Dee and Delbert Francis Berry. Raised in the military, Dan had lived in more countries by the time he had graduated high school than many people visit in a lifetime, including Germany, Turkey and Morocco. Graduated from Mascoutah Community High School in Illinois. Dan joined the Air Force in 1967 and was married in 1968 to Shirley Ann Dahl. Dan was a loving father to sons, Jon and Mark and daughter Lisa. Dan served 22 years in the military and retired Master Sergeant and First Sergeant for the 2001 Communication Squadron at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base. Following his retirement, Dan was a successful, independent businessman. Divorced in 1990, Dan returned to Jacksonville, Arkansas to live closer to his family. He was later joined by his long time friend and loving companion, Connie Wagner. Dan was a gregarious, fun loving man who was a skilled joke and story teller, instantly liked by everyone he met. He was a proud father and was quick to say that his children were his greatest success. Dan is preceded by his Mother and Father and his older sister Anita. He is survived by his brother and sister, Rick and Francine, sons Jon and Mark, daughter, Lisa, Grandson Rowan, many nieces and nephews, his beloved companion Connie and his adored dog Teddy.
