Ila Arrington Secrest

Ila Arrington Secrest, 89, loving mother of Richard Secrest and Robin Secrest, and widow of William Stanley Secrest, died on March 10 in Pasadena, Texas. She was born November 18, 1924 to the late Richard and Leona Arrington in Monticello, Arkansas. She grew up and graduated from schools in Monticello. Ila worked in Little Rock, Arkansas for several years, for the late Governor Francis Cherry and for the Workmen Compensation Commission. She later worked for Houston Lighting and Power in Houston, Texas and retired from there in 1989. She was a longtime member of Sunset United Methodist Church and Wesley Sunday School Class in Pasadena. She was married to William Stanley Secrest for 47 years until his death in November 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Robert Arrington and Richard Arrington, and sister Lorraine Lytle. She is survived by a son, Richard Secrest of Houston, Texas and a daughter, Robin Secrest of Pasadena, Texas. Ila is also survived by sisters-in-law, Nancy Secrest Christy of Denton, Texas, Jean Secrest Johnson of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and by a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday March 13 at Pasadena Funeral Chapel, 2203 Pasadena Boulevard in Pasadena, Texas. Funeral services will be at Sunset Methodist Church, 709 West Allendale in Pasadena at 10:30 a.m. on Friday March 14 with Reverend Keith Swatzel officiating. Interment following at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway , Webster, Texas.
