James Meziere, 75, of Hamburg, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Meziere was a native of Campti, Louisiana and was raised in Oak Grove, Louisiana. He was a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for the past 45 years. He worked for Deep South and Ideal Construction for many years and faithfully attended Egypt Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid cattleman, horseman, coon hunter and loved working a garden with his wife. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leo & Ada Sanchez Meziere; seven brothers, Pete, Patrick, Robert, Paul, Raymond, Joseph and Eugene Meziere and a sister, Mattie Meziere. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Rice Meziere of Hamburg; two sons, Jeff Blankenship of Crossett and Jim Meziere and wife, Misty, of Springdale; two daughters, Janet McGhee and husband, Jason, of Little Rock and Michelle Meziere of Haughton, Louisiana; a brother, Charles Meziere of Mishawaka, Indiana; a sister, Sylvia Wood of Mishawaka, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Seth, Jodie and Wesley Blankenship, Logan and Anna Claire McGhee, Logan and Ashlen Hill and James Tate Meziere; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Egypt Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Buddy Boykin and Bro. Roy Craig officiating. Burial will be in the Egypt Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jeff Blankenship, Jim Meziere, Jason McGhee, Paul A. Meziere, Ronny Rice, Aaron Davis, Dale Streeter and Eddie Wayne Burch. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Murphy, Bobby Burt and Randall Burchfield. Memorials may be made to the Egypt Cemetery Association, c/o Mr. John Laing, 272 Ashley 454 Road, Hamburg, Ark. 71646.
