Tressie Eans Horrell

Tressie Eans Horrell, of Little Rock died Friday March 14, 2014. She was born November 8th, 1919 to Lora T. Eans and Bertha Irene Eans at Griffithville, Arkansas.Graduated from Des Arc High School in 1939. She attended Capitol City Business College, Little Rock, Arkansas in 1941. She worked as bookkeeper for Nowlin Lumber Company from 1942-1958, and in the finance department for City of Little Rock from 1958-1981, retiring after 23 years. Tressie was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary #60 since 1981, and a member of First Baptist Church Little Rock. She was an avid bowler for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 53 years Elmer Lee Horrell, sister, Hilda Blackwood of Northside Des Arc, brothers, Thetford Eans of Stuttgart and Clarence Eans of Fayetteville, Ark. Survived by sister-in-law, Pauline Eans, Nieces Judy Bates, Charlotte Wray and Shirley Durning. Survived by nephews, Shelly Blackwood, Tom Eans, and Ronald Eans, along with several great-nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at Welcome Home Cemetery north of Des Arc by Garth Funeral Home.
