Van M. Gibson

Van M. Gibson, age 89, of Searcy, died Monday, March 17, 2014 in Searcy. He was born November 5, 1924 in Judsonia to P.D. and Clara Gibson. He was a member of Judsonia Church of Christ for 53 years and was a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilda Gibson; one son, Mel Gibson and wife Brenda; two grandchildren, Brianne and Ethan Gibson; two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Maci Gibson. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.D. Gibson; sister, Audra Gibson; and sister-in-law, Louise Gibson. Visitation is Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family has asked that memorials be made to the Evergreen Cemetery Fund.
