James W. Thomason, 88, of Mabelvale was released from this life March 19, 2014. He was born May 18, 1925 in Hampton, Ark. to the late James Howard and Nora Hopper Thomason. He enjoyed life, church, and family. James proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Navy. He then served as a defense engineer for LTV Aerospace and Defense Company (Vought) in Camden, Ark. James was a member of the International Association of Machinists, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Masonic Lodge. He was a long-time member of Guiding Light Baptist Church. James is preceded in death by his first wife, Emiley Benton Thomason, and his parents. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his wife of 10 years, Mildred Feeny Thomason; two sons, Jim Thomason of Little Rock and Tom Thomason (Mona) of Vilonia; two daughters, Karen Thompson of Missouri and Jean Showmar (George) of Mabelvale; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Thomason of Conway; two step-daughters, Barbara Lewis (Glen) of Bryant and Ann Davis (Rick) of Benton; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jessie Juanita Garman of Euless, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209, Phone: 501-455-5800. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014.
