Lena Wilma Green

Lena Wilma Green, 91 and formerly of Blytheville, Ark., passed away on the morning of March 18, 2014, in Fayetteville, Ark. where she had lived with her daughter since 2010. After having a long and wonderful life with family and friends, she is now with the Lord. Mrs. Green was born in Thornton, Arkansas in 1922. She was the daughter of Thomas and Wilma Threet Stell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Claude Wesley Green, and her youngest son, Gary Claude Green. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Melville and Wilma (Tootie) Ferrell of Fayetteville, and her oldest son, James Green of Olive Branch, Miss Mrs. Green had eight loving grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Her grandchildren are John Green of Olive Branch, Miss., Lisa Williamson, Collierville, TN., Jennifer Manos, Rogers, Ark., Amy Melville Gortney, Seattle, Wash., Zack Ferrell, Fayetteville, Ark., Zebulen Ferrell, Fayetteville, Ark., Ashley Green, Memphis, Tenn., and Wesley Green, Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Green's great-granddaughter is Iris Gortney of Seattle Washington. Mrs. Green's church, Ridgecrest Baptist Church, in Blytheville and her many friends were always very important to her. Particularly, her neighbors were always very caring and made a point to visit her often. She enjoyed cooking gardening, and loved gatherings with family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville, Ark. at 1 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2014. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville.
