Robert Baker Galloway Sr., 87, of Stuttgart passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart. Mr. Galloway was born September 16, 1926, in Warren, Arkansas, the only child of Roy and Verna Vanarsdel Galloway. He was a graduate of Warren High School and Ouachita Baptist University and an Air Force veteran serving during World War II. Before becoming a prominent Prairie County farmer who over the years served on the Stuttgart School Board and Stuttgart Memorial Hospital Board, Mr. Galloway spent five years as the basketball and football coach at Stuttgart High School. He was Advisory Director of First National Bank and member of St. John's Lutheran Church serving on Board of Elders and House Committee. Survivors are his wife, Caroline Bull Galloway; three sons, Bob Galloway Jr. and wife Carol of Austin, Texas, Scott Galloway and wife Katherine of Houston, Texas, and Neal Galloway and wife Donna of Stuttgart; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Don White, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church.
