Mattie Wilkins

Mattie Pearl (Chadwick) Wilkins, age 90 of Maumelle (formerly of Sherwood), passed away on March 23, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. She was born on December 30, 1923 in Jacksonville, Arkansas to Charles and Sarah Lillian Chadwick. Mrs. Wilkins was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as working puzzles, singing, sewing and embroidering and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Troy Edward Wilkins, her parents, an infant son, Jerry Wilkins, a son, Jimmie Wilkins, a daughter, Mattie Ruth (Dodson) Noah, five sisters and three great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children and their spouses are Troy Lee Jr. and Sandi Wilkins of Maumelle, Anne and Rick Tyler of Maumelle, Charles and Maudie Wilkins of Sherwood; a daughter-in-law, Jean Wilkins of Cabot; and a son-in-law, Mearlon Noah of Cabot, two brothers Buddy Preston and Leroy Chadwick. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Huson Funeral Home Chapel. Grandsons Reverend J. Emerson and Reverend Ricky Tyler will be officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery on Hwy. 89 in Cato. Casket Bearers will be Ronnie Craft, Chad Guy, Wallace Wilkins, Eric Whaley, Miles Johnson, Dewayne Murdock and James Alden, all of whom are her grandsons.
