Carl W. Scott, age 87, of Benton, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014. He was born September 27, 1926 in Prescott, Arkansas to the late George and Georgia Floyd Scott. Mr. Scott was a W.W. II Army Veteran, a retired truck driver and a member of Congo Road Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and leaves behind many memories for his family to cherish. He loved the Lord and served him for many years. Mr. Scott was an avid hunter and a fisherman and loved all things outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Scott; two daughters, Myra McNair and Jennifer Summerville and husband James all of Benton; grandson, Chris Summerville and wife Monica of Ningbo, China; two granddaughters, Amber Summerville Davis and Maleah Summerville both of Benton; sisters-in-law, Virginia Scott of Gurdon and Barbara Scott of Arkadelphia; a very special sister-in-law, Merilla Davis of Benton and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Ashby Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27 at Congo Road Baptist Church with burial at Pine Crest Memorial Park.
