Emma Jean McKin

Emma Jean Hurst McKin, age 84, of Curtis, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born September 1, 1929 in Arkadelphia, the daughter of the late Jerry and Mamie Herron Hurst. Emma was a homemaker and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar McKin, three sisters, Dorothy McNeil, Mitty Cage and Shirley Taylor, five brothers, L.B., Billy, Clarence, Jerry and Harold Hurst. Emma is survived by two sons, Charles (Diane) McKin of Gurdon and Dennis (Susie) McKin of Bismarck, two brothers, Robert Hurst of Curtis and James Hurst of Little Rock, two grandchildren, Brian (Aubree) McKin and Nanette (Kevin) Malone, three great-grandchildren, Brady and Lauren Vandiver and McKensey Malone. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Welch Funeral home with Randy Turner officiating. Interment will be in Shady Grove Cemetery at Curtis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to Shady Grove Baptist Church. Final arrangements are entrusted to The Welch Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
