J.D. Burton

J.D. Burton, 82, of White Hall, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in Little Rock. He was born September 9, 1931 in Moreland, Arkansas, son of Gert and Lillie Mae Chronister Burton. Mr. Burton was reared and received his early education in Plum Bayou. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Burton worked for the Food and Drug Administration in refrigeration and air conditioning for 34 years, retiring in 1986. He was a Baptist and member of Jacob Brump Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 232. Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Dempsey Burton, L.D. Burton, Glen Burton and Junior Burton; and two sisters, Sue Harris and Margaret Kerr. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Oliger Burton, whom he married June 6, 1952 in Pine Bluff; son, Michael Burton and his wife, Barbara, of Little Rock; daughter, Lynn Daniel and her husband, Robin, of De Queen; and two grandchildren, Page and Hunter Daniel. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Mr. Clarence Fell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Robinson's. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 4093 W.
