Walter Darrell Whisenant, age 73, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on December 4, 1940 in Austin, Arkansas. He was the son of Walter W. and Mary Katherine (Pruett) Whisenant. Darrell was an audio-visual superintendent for the Arkansas Air National Guard for 37 1/2 years and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and served in the sound ministry for 25 years. Darrell was a Christian who loved the Lord and was a faithful servant. He lived his life as a witness of Christ. He loved reading Gods' word and Psalm 139 was his favorite. He had a great influence on his wife, children, and grandchildren. Darrell was a true example of a Godly husband and father. He always put his family first. His encouragement and enthusiasm for any endeavor that his daughters or grandchildren wanted to pursue was wholeheartedly supported and cheered. He showed his great love for his family through words and actions and his family loved him with the same unconditional love. He fought hard and would not let physical difficulties defeat his love of participating in his family's lives. He leaves an emptiness that will never be filled and will be missed every day.
