Pauline Lawson Burkett

Pauline Lawson Burkett, 91, of White Hall, Ark., died, Friday, March 28, 2014, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab. She was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Romance, to Esker N. and Mary Barnett Lawson. She was reared and educated in Romance. Mrs. Burkett worked 23 years for S. H. Green Stamps, before retiring in 1979 as a manager. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, past leader of the Out-reach Committee and a pre-teen Sunday School Teacher. She participated in cancer and heart drives and was a member and past Matron of the Pine Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berthold Booth Burkett, whom she married in October of 1938; her parents; grandchild, Misty Burrow; a great-grandchild, Callie Burrow; and 14 brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughters, Nancy Browne (Billy) of Pine Bluff, Linda Miller (Bobby) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Anthony Miller of White Hall, Tammy Browne of Sherwood; and a great-grandchild, Elisabeth Miller. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time at Robinson's. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Dr. Don Taylor officiating.
