Robert "Bob" E. Oliver, 82, passed away Sunday during the tornado, April 27, 2014. He was born March 19, 1932 in Mayflower, Ark. to the late James Edward and Della B. (Washam) Oliver. Bob was also preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Reba (Harmon) Oliver, two sisters, Edna (Oliver) Gossett and Margaret (Oliver) Henze, and one brother, William E. Oliver. Bob was a lifelong resident of Mayflower and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mayflower. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict and a graduate of Mayflower High School. Bob was employed as Head Maintenance Supervisor for General Service Administration from 1968 until his retirement in the summer of 1986. He enjoyed duck and quail hunting, fishing, woodworking, home building, dancing and spending time with his family and friends. Bob is survived by his two daughters, Karen Elaine Oliver-Young of Atlanta, Ga and Debra K. Oliver of Mayflower and his very special friend, Dorothy Vinson of Russellville, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501) 327-7727, with Bro. Terry Turner, Bro. Bobby Dycus, and Jim Wafford officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mayflower Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Oliver, John Oliver, David Henze, Michael Henze, Daniel Wright, and Jeff Henze. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the coffee veterans group from Julie's Sweet Shop. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
