Carol Graydon Stanford, 88, of Pine Bluff, passed away, Thursday, May 1, 2014, at White Hall Nursing and Rehab Center. Born March 5, 1926, in McGehee, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Glen and Lillian Hosfel Stanford. He was reared and received his education in McGehee and Tillar, attending Tillar High School. In 1944, during World War II, he enlisted in the United States Army. Serving first in the Army Air Corps as a Gunner; then in the Bomb Squadron as an Aerial Photographer. After returning from the Military, he married Betty Pyle in 1953, in El Dorado, Arkansas. Together they had five children, and shared over sixty years of life, love and memories. Mr. Stanford worked for International Paper Company for over 30 years retiring in 1988. During his retirement he pursued his favorite hobbies, carpentry work and photography. He also had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He put his handyman skills to use, in his second career as assembly personnel at Walmart for 15 years retiring for a second time in 2011. He was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church, where he and his family were active members for many years. Mr. Stanford was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Donna Massanelli; one sister, Doris Traylor; and one brother, Glen Stanford. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Stanford, of Pine Bluff; his children, Travis Wade Stanford, of Fort Worth, Texas, Gregory Stanford, of White Hall, Susan Stanford, of Houston, Texas and Ryan Stanford, of Pine Bluff; his six grandchildren; his brothers, Owen, Paul & Roy Stanford and one sister, Florence Henderson. Services will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Jim Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Robinson's. Friends may sign the online register at www.ralphrobinsonandson.com. The family will be at the home of Greg Stanford in White Hall.
