Gary Dale Morgan, 64, of the Smith Chapel Community, Kingsland, Ark., passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior on May 3, 2014 at his home. Gary was the son of the late Huey Morgan and Reba Irene Key Morgan. He was a 1968 graduate of Kingsland High School and a graduate of Pines Vocational Technical School. Gary worked for over 30 years for Georgia Pacific Corporation in Fordyce, Ark. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Renea Towery Morgan; daughters, Lesley Grice and husband Jamey, Amy Matthews and husband Mark; and his pride and joy, the sweetest grandchildren in the world, Kaitlyn and Hannah Grice and Braden Matthews; and siblings, Johnny Bob "Bobby" Miller of Pine Bluff and Nancy Morgan of Kingsland; aunt, Wanda Fae Mitchell of Kingsland; and uncle, Doyle (Jick) Morgan of Fordyce; and his beloved companion, his dog, Scrappy. Gary was a lifelong member of Smith Chapel Church of God, where he served many years as president of the Board of Directors. Gary was a wonderful storyteller, a creative prankster, and never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman, but his most joy came by watching and playing with his grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on May 6, 2014 at 2 p.m.at the Smith Chapel Church of God Kingsland, with Brother Shane Matthews officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 12 to 2 p.m. Burial will be at Smith Morgan Cemetery. Pallbearers are Carroll Austin, Ray Bryant, Dennis Duran, Randy Grice, Bruce Mitchell, Ken Puterbaugh, Tim Reaves, and Tom Tidwell.
