Hazelle Marie (McCulloch) Alvis

Hazelle Marie (McCulloch) Alvis was born October 21, 1930 in Lawrence County, Alabama and died at Springhill Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 4, 2014. Her parents were William Pervin and Paralee Wood McCulloch. She was the fourth child in a family of 10. Her passions were gardening and flowers. She was a Baptist. Hazelle is preceded in death by her husband from Cullman, Alabama, Milton Kilgore Alvis; one son, James M. Alvis of Decatur, Alabama; her brothers Eugene, William and Richard; her sisters Beatrice and Francis. She is survived by her son, John Alvis of Brownsville, Texas; daughters Mary Kaye Birchler of Lonoke; Janie Miller, Joyce Herrington and Linda Morris, all from the greater Little Rock area. She has 48 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny McCulloch of Georgia and Lyndon McCulloch of Florida; and two sisters, Ruby Lee McCulloch of Tennessee and Barbara Gail Phillips of Alabama. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Westbrook Funeral Home.
