Hugh Miller

Hugh Miller, 90, of Kingsland died Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock. Born October 6, 1923 at Kingsland, he was a son of the late William Henry Miller and Nina Mitchell Miller. He was an iron worker and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Iva Maxine Sims Miller, brothers, George "Deacon" Miller and Sam Miller; sisters, Lena Hopkins and Elva Miller. He is survived by two daughters, Becky Brown (Mike) of Crosby, Texas, Kay Aist (Mike) of Cabot; four grandchildren, Bryan (Dahlia) Brown of Houston, Texas, Callie (Garrett) Ham of Bentonville, Ark., Jason (fiancé, Katie) Aist of Fayetteville, Ark., Brandon (Jordan) Aist of Enid, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Amos Brown of Houston, Texas, Kaylin Ham of Bentonville, Ark., Trey Ham of Bentonville, Ark. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hebron United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Bolin and Rev. Tony Atkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers are Sammy Miller, Elbert Miller, Bobby Miller, David Miller, Roy Garlington, Billy Garlington, Ronald Mitchell, Donald Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Roland Sims, Arling Sims, Harold Sims, Donald Sims, Ray Sims, Mike Sims, James Grice, James Langford, Dr. Kerry Pennington.
