Tillman Byron Blann, 91, of Sherwood, passed into Eternal Life on May 13, 2014 at his home in Sherwood. He was born in Jersey, Arkansas October 29, 1922 to the late Tillman Brawner Blann and Hazel Adams Blann. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Leighton Blann. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mildred Sue Gaddy Blann of Sherwood; son, Tim Blann (Joan) of Sherwood; granddaughter, Beverly Weidner (Aaron) of Kansas City; granddaughter, Barbara Raney (Dustin) of Little Rock; great-granddaughters, Breckon Raney and Natalie Weidner, and great grandson, Will Weidner; sister-in-law, Frances Blann of Little Rock and nephew and niece, Jason Blann and Jalan Mayes, both of Texas. Byron and Sue made their home in Dermott, Arkansas where he worked for the Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads. He was an active member of Dermott Baptist Church, serving faithfully as the choir director, Sunday school teacher and deacon for over 60 years. In 2005, they moved to Sherwood where they were members of First Baptist Church of Sherwood. His many hobbies included amateur radio, bee-keeping and hand-crafting several beautiful violins, which he could also play. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 15th at First Baptist Church of Sherwood. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time in the church foyer. Service will be officiated by Reverend Steven Tiner, pastor of Levy Baptist Church and Dr. Rickey Lee, pastor of First Baptist of Sherwood. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dermott Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home Foundation of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention.
