Deulon M. Cox

Deulon "DM" Cox, of Little Rock, passed away on May 15, 2014, at the age of 88. Originally from Mineral Springs, Arkansas, DM was a US Navy veteran of World War II and Korea as a Communications Code Breaker. Following this, he joined the Little Rock Police Department where he rose to the rank of Captain after over 23 years of service including managing the civilian officers during the 1957 Central High integration. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class #29. He then became the Security Director, for Remington Arms in Lonoke, Arkansas, where he served in that capacity for over 12 years. Not content with his retirement status, he joined Judge Jack Lessenberry's Court staff to serve as a probation officer. He was preceded in death by his father, Deulon Dewey Cox, mother, Stella Marie Green, and wife of 47 years, Mildred Cox. He is survived by the following: Sam (son) and Susan Cox, Lindsay Cox (grand daughter), Von Green ( brother), and his dearest friend Carolyn Bateman. A graveside service, conducted by the Nashville Funeral Home, will be held at the Mineral Springs, Arkansas, cemetery on Saturday May17, 2014 at 1 p.m.
