Mayme S. Elkins

Mayme S. Elkins, 107, of Hartman, passed away May 18, 2014. She was born February 8, 1907, in London, Arkansas, to the late Charles Reed and Martha (Shinn) Reed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Dock" Elkins; two sons, Vernon Elkins and Bill Elkins; a daughter, Violet Bynum; a grandson, James Weathers; a granddaughter, Judy Elkins; one brother and one sister. Mrs. Elkins is survived by two sons, Bob Elkins of Searcy and Don Elkins and wife, Jean, of Hartman; a daughter, Betty Simms and husband, L.J. of Clarksville; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home. Mrs. Elkins' funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, at Roller-Cox Funeral Home, with Bro. Jim Goodman officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Elkins, Tim Elkins, Shannon Ragsdale, Dondi Elkins, Allen Walker and Donnie Pelts.
