Doy E Bryant, age 86, of Center Ridge, Ark., passed away Monday, May 26, 2014. He was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Center Ridge, the sixth child of the late Eli Harvey Bryant and Mary Jane Epperson Bryant. He served in the Air Force for 22 years and retired as Senior Chief Master Sergeant. Doy was an avid High School sports fan and supported the Nemo Vista Red Hawks never missing a game. He was an Electrician, a farmer and a huge supporter of Higher Education. He was survived by four sisters, Faye McCoy of Dexter, Mo., Murriel Dixon of Morrilton, Betty Louise Flowers (Jay) of Center Ridge, and Nina Scroggins of Center Ridge; one brother, Jim Bryant (Pam) of Morrilton; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wallwork Bryant; four sisters, Marvell Noaks, Bertie Flowers, Thomasa Oliger and Mary Sutton; and two brothers, Afton Bryant and Hubert Bryant. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at Pleasant Springs Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Doyle Glass officiating. Private burial will be at a later date.
