Ronald Gene Rogers, 65, of Redfield, died peacefully at home May 25, 2014. He was our "Ron," our Daddy, beloved son, and brother. He was an avid hunter, outdoorsman, history buff, and he loved to read. Ron won the State Championship Black Powder Shoot in Arkansas and several out of state. He was a licensed pilot before his illness. He loved to fly for fun, especially when he could take his mom and sister up with him. He graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in Theology. He served as a superintendent for Halliburton for years, traveling to Guam, Columbia, Japan, and Canada working with fiber optics. He was preceded in death by his father, John Rogers; and a brother, Jerry Gandy. He is survived by the love of his life and caregiver, Marie Bryant; two cherished daughters, Tonya Shaw (Jerry) and Angel Taylor of Hensley; his mother, Betty Gandy; a sister, LouAnn Oates (Bill); three step-children, Lisa Clark, Stephen Bryant, and Jared Bryant all of Redfield; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 1 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark. 72211, Phone: 501-224-8300. Reverend Don Cooper will officiate. Burial will follow at 3 p.m., at Redfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers for the service will be Bill Oates, Bryan Lowery, Larry Little Jr., David Hall, Randy Thompson, and Jerry Shaw.
