Homer Edward Martin

Homer Edward Martin of Carlisle, passed away May 26, 2014. He was born April 11, 1942 in Colt, Arkansas to Homer Lee and Maude LouElla Martin. Homer was a diesel mechanic for Carlisle Implement for 37 years, serving farmers in Lonoke and Prairie counties. He was a devoted father and faithful member of Carlisle First Baptist Church. He was known as a gentle and kind man, a good neighbor, and a dedicated Christian. He is survived by his children, Teresa DeVore (Tim) of Des Arc, and Steve Martin of De Valls Bluff; five grandchildren, Mason, Rachel, Kara, Zac, and Sarabeth, and a sister, Geraldine Borden of Colt. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at the First Baptist Church in Carlisle. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1 p.m. prior to the service.
