James Thurman Shadrick

James Thurman Shadrick, age 80, of Searcy died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 in Searcy. He was born March 17, 1934 at Greenbrier, Arkansas to Doyle and Nellie Shadrick. He was a devout Christian who never missed an opportunity to witness about the lord; loved hunting, fishing and camping; retired from Matthews International after many years of service; a 32 Degree Mason; a former Auxiliary Deputy for the White County Sheriff's Department; was a Jack of All Trades; he was loved deeply by his family and will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Gloria Shadrick; two sons, Michael Shadrick and wife Serita of Searcy, Stevie Bailey of the home; one daughter, Jamie Brumley and husband Jimmy of Searcy; two sisters, Joy Ransom of Conway, Jeannie Williams of McRae; five grandchildren, Teah Thrasher and husband Dustin of Crosby, North Dakota, Renee Brumley of Maumelle, Cole Brumley of Searcy, Robbie Fikes and wife Shantal of Leslie, Michael Fikes of Searcy; one Bonus grandchild, Kandi Carbajal and husband Jeremy of Loveland, Colorado; three great-grandchildren, Trace Fikes of Leslie, Kason Fikes of Leslie, Brycen Thrasher of Crosby, North Dakota; he also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Nellie Shadrick; one infant son; one brother, David Shadrick; and one sister, Lavelle Powell. Visitation will be Friday from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church with interment to follow at Gum Springs Cemetery.
