John Austin Howard Sr.

John Austin Howard, Sr. 73, of Pine Bluff died Monday, November 10, 2014, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1941 in Star City, to Adam Bradley and Marie Turner Howard. Mr. Howard was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School. He was a Baptist and a proud US Marine Veteran. He had retired from the US Postal service after 30+ years of service. Survivors include his wife, Orpha Jeanette Parker Howard (married November 12, 1965), four sons; John Howard Jr. (Stacy) of Woodlawn, Mark (Donna) Howard of White Hall, Carl Howard, Kirk (Jaclyn), of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Paul Howard and Adam Howard of White Hall, three sisters, Mae Bell Earnest, Mary Weast, both of Star City, Barbara Pennington of Rison; 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jimmie and James Howard, and two sisters, Marie Denton and Bertha Dulaff. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son, with Reverends Todd Howard and Josh Dutton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
