Mack Joseph Borgognoni, age 88, of Hot Springs, formerly of Lake Village, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born February 28, 1926 in Lake Village, Arkansas to the late Guiseppe Borgognoni and Marcella Alpe Borgognoni. First year of college he went to St. Bernard's in Alabama, then drafted into army and served during WWII in ETO-Battle of Bulge and Capture of Reinagen Bridge. Returned home and graduated from UAM and Banking School of the South at LSU and began banking career at Bank of Lake Village. In December of 1953 he joined Portland Bank (now Parkway) in Portland, and served as president before retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village, Charter member of Knights of Columbus 3rd & 4th degree, financial secretary 51 years, 2 terms parish council, usher, president of St. Mary's School Board, St. Isadore Society, and Lake Village food pantry. In Portland he was, Secretary of Lions Club, Secretary of Fire Department where he served 20 years as volunteer fireman, Secretary Portland School Board, City recorder and treasurer over 50 years, and treasurer of low income housing project. Survivors are wife of 63 years, Marilyn Jo McMillan Borgognoni of Hot Springs, 2 sons, Charles Borgognoni and wife, Wanda, of Hot Springs, and Mark Borgognoni and wife, Debbie, of Texarkana, Texas; a daughter, Kathryn Brooks and husband, Don, of Cabot; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will start at 9:30 a.m. till rosary starting at 10:15 a.m. November 15, 2014 at Bishop-King Funeral Home chapel in Lake Village. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Village with Father Theophilus Okpara as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Isadore Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. In lieu of flower family ask donation to; Children's Hospital and St. Mary's School in Lake Village.
