Joshua Brian Blackstock was called to heaven for a higher purpose on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, upon arrival, he will be welcomed by his grandfather, Bill Reimer; his grandmother, Martha Blackstock; and close friends called earlier that he has missed. Only 23 years old, Josh left this earth too early as his journey had barely begun. The memories of Josh's infectious smile and his desire and ability to make people laugh will be his greatest gift to those that knew him during his short life. He wanted happiness for himself, his friends, and his family in this world. He was an avid outdoors man and lover of animals. Growing up he caught almost every wild critter out there. Josh loved people and always enjoyed hearing stories with his elders. Josh loved to work with his many horses and hunting dogs. He is survived by his parents Brian and Liz Blackstock; his brother, Spencer Blackstock; his grandfather, Wayland Blackstock; and his grandmother, Beth Reimer. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Karen and Barton Hunter, Andrea and Gerald Grummer, Paula and Steve Lunn, and Chuck Reimer and Lori Reimer; numerous cousins; and extended family in Texas. Pallbearers will be Spencer Blackstock, Jacob Grummer, Jordan Grummer, Conner Grummer, Brett Lunn, and Jacob Reimer. The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at Bishop-Crites Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be held 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at LifeSong Baptist Church. A private family burial service will be held the following morning. Memorial contributions can be made at the First Security Bank, 7 Wilson Farm Road, in Greenbrier.
