SMSgt. Cencion Lujan "Don" Gallardo, USAF (Ret.), age 87, of Jacksonville was reunited with the love of his life Doris on Sunday, November 16, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born March 28, 1927 in Big Springs, Texas to the late Pedro and Enriquetta Gallardo. He was the oldest of his siblings. He joined the Army Air Corps at the young age of 17. He served in the Air Force for over 30 years, he was a Missile Facility Technician in the 374th Missile Squadron at Little Rock Air Force Base. He also served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a Golden Glove Boxer, a baseball player and he enjoyed trout fishing, the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Gallardo, sons, Harris and Ruben Michael Gallardo and one granddaughter, Cassie Curtain. He is survived by his daughters, Jean Shahan and her husband Tom of Jacksonville, Angella Garrie of Jacksonville, grandchildren, Lori Bowers and her husband Will of Maumelle, Charlene Coke and her husband Floyd of El Dorado, Rebecca Williamson and her husband Myk of Cabot, Missy Kominos and her husband Paul of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tony Gallardo of Mims, Florida, great-grandchildren; Tyler, Travis, Tanner, Alex, Emily, Katlyn, Sam, Alexis, and one great-great-granddaughter Aisley. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Military Honors.
