Almer Eugene Lee was born on December 23, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Almer and Pauline Lee. Both preceded him in death, as well as his brother, Carl Lee. On November 16, 2014 at 8:45 p.m. at Baptist Hospital, he responded to the call from his Heavenly Father to come and rest from all his aches, pains, and labors. He received his early education at Howard Elementary School in Forth Smith, and graduated from Northside High School in 1968. He continued his education at Phillips Community College in Helena, Arkansas, and was later offered a basketball scholarship to play for the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He retired in 2013 from the Department of Human Services after 25 years of service. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife and soul mate, Evelyn; one son, Eric (Nicole) of Pine Bluff; one daughter, Monica (Mitchell) of North Little Rock; four grandchildren that he worshipped, Shaquille, Kierre, Nyjha, and Mya; two brothers, Donald Lee of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Charles Allen Lee (Linda) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two sisters, Barbara Fisher (Dion) of Kansas City, Missouri and Lydia Lee of San Francisco, California; and one uncle, Ben Brown of Fort Smith, Arkansas. He has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. Services to be held Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at First Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas by Reverend William Robinson Jr. Visitation and family hour will be held Friday, November 21, 2014, from 5:30-7 p.m., at St. Luke AME Church, 9908 Princeton Pike, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Interment will be at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 in St. Luke Cemetery by the P.K. Miller Mortuary of Pine Bluff. Mr. Lee will lie in repose at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
