Charles Louis "Pop" Dalsis, Sr.

Charles Louis "Pop" Dalsis Sr., 83, of Collins, Ark., passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Dermott City Nursing Home in Dermott, Arkansas. He was born on June 24, 1931 in Scottsville, New York to the late Edward and Caroline Hartness Dalsis. Pop served in the United States Army. He worked for Burlington Industries for 25 years before retiring. Pop was the Assistant Fire Chief for Collins-Cominto Fire Department from 1988-2004. He loved to hunt, fish and work in his garden. Pop was a member of Cominto Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Humphrey Dalsis; son, Charles Dalsis, Jr. of Collins, Ark.; sisters, Rene Houk and husband, Don of Scottsville, N.Y. and Norma Richards and husband, Tom of Scottsville, N.Y.; grandchildren, Carlton Dalsis and wife, Glenda of Dermott, Ark. and Darian Dalsis, Sr. and wife, Crystal of Collins, Ark.; great-grandchildren, Cody Dalsis of McGehee, Ark., Elizabeth Dalsis of McGehee, Ark., Darian Dalsis Jr. of Collins, Ark., and Dylan Dalsis of Collins, Ark. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Cominto Baptist Church in Cominto, Ark. with Rev. Zan Pierce and Rev. Joe Chambers officiating.
