Kenneth James "Ken" Williams

Kenneth James "Ken" Williams of Sheridan, Ark. was born March 17, 1945 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, the son of the late J.D. and Maxine Burroughs Williams. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and had served in the United States Naval Reserves. He enjoyed hunting, was a member of O.E. Hunting Club and also liked to golf. He and his wife were former owners of several restaurants, including Steak N Stuff and The Ice House in Sheridan and Whiskers in Rison. Ken's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a proud dad and grandpa and loved spending time with them. Mr. Williams died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at his home in Sheridan, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was 69 years old. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Janice Bain Williams of Sheridan; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Aaron Reed of East End; grandchildren, Braden and Jillian Reed; brother, Rick Williams; numerous cousins and a large number of friends. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel in Sheridan, with Rev. Jimmy Bobo officiating. Visitation will also be Tuesday, from 4-6 p.m., prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers are the O.E. Hunting Club and the Barn Rats. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Unit 6-C at John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock as well as Dr. Safar and Dr. Batra, for their excellent care and concern. Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project, P.O.
