Billy Dee Bearden

Billy Dee Bearden, 80, of Malvern, died Sunday at Arkansas Hospice Inpatient in Hot Springs. He was born July 5, 1934 to the late Harvey and Nellie Green Bearden. He enjoyed horse racing and playing guitar. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Shirley Bearden; son, Rodney Herring; and sister, Lodavee Nickolson. Survivors include son, Carl E. Herring of Malvern; stepchildren, Cathy Roberts, Sandy Roberts, both of Rio de Janeiro, and Roy David of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Ollen Bearden of Pine Bluff, and James Bearden of Woodlawn; five grandchildren, Stacey Owens, Casey Herring, Tracey Herring, Kerri Stephens and Karla Vedder; and a host of great-grandchildren. Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery near Pine Bluff, with Bro. Gid Walters officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
