Jerry "Pot" King , 70, of Vilonia, Arkansas passed away on October 19, 2014. He was born on August 21, 1944 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Hubert Curtis King and Gladys Naylor King. Pot held the title for the largest baby born in Faulkner County and was awarded a year's supply of PET milk. Jerry, better known as Pot earned his nickname after he was placed under a large wash pot by his two older brothers Bobby and Bodie, and later found with the help of his sister, Peggy. Pot was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He retired after 40 years as a concrete finisher where he worked for several companies as well as owning his own business. Pot loved horses and enjoyed trail riding with his family and friends. He spent much of his time riding and being around horses. Pot made many trips to Eminence, Missouri for a week of riding the beautiful Ozarks forests and Jacks Fork river. Pot had a tremendous love for horses and found great happiness when riding and observing nature. He was a generous loving man who never met a stranger. Above all Pot loved his Lord and savior Jesus Christ and never missed a chance to witness to those in need. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Friendship Baptist church. He is survived by his wife of 14 years Jeanne King, whom he affectionately called "Ruth", three brothers; Bobby King (Denise) of Little Rock, James "Bodie" King ( Lee) of Vilonia, and Larry "Pete" King (Marsha) of Mount Vernon, one sister; Peggy Browning (Tommy) of Wooster, three daughters; Tonya Johnson (Tim), of Vilonia, Kesia Bowman (Noble) of Springfield, Missouri, and Rinda Shuman ( Bret) of Sherwood. He was Pepaw to seven grandchildren; Faith, Hope and Caleb Johnson, Landon, Gabe, and Chase Bowman, and Rhett Shuman, who he spoiled rotten, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Ken Jordan officiating. A time to visit with family and friends and celebrate the life of Pot King will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment will follow the service at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be Tommy Lynn Browning, Bret Shuman, Noble Bowman, Tim Johnson, Mike Wallace, Derrick King, Justin King, and Curtis King.
