Johnny Jay Dorsey

Johnny Jay Dorsey, age 70, of Perryville, died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at his lake front home. He was born November 18, 1943 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Johnny was a master carpenter, an avid hunter, fisherman and loved spending time with his family. He also loved working in his shop, calling the Hogs, and was of the Baptist faith. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Geraldine Davis Dorsey; his daughters, Mandy Dorsey Wood and husband Troy and their children, Tyler, Whitney and Gage; Heather Dorsey Surrett and husband Mike and their children, D.J., Brady, Charleigh and Brittany; three stepdaughters, Tammy, Rhonda and Tracy; his oldest brother, James Dorsey; a host of nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, M.C. Dorsey and his mother, Julia Iles Dorsey; two brothers, Roy Turner and Norman Dorsey. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Bethel North Cemetery (Cane Creek) in Sheridan, Arkansas with Chuck Holiman officiating.
