Mary Jane Larkin Sanders, 98, of Pine Bluff, died Saturday, September 6, 2014. She was born August 27, 1916 in Latour, Arkansas, daughter of John M. and Sallie Hickingbothom Larkin. Mrs. Sanders was reared and received her early education in West Helena, graduating from West Helena High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for Harlow-Sanders Cotton Company in Pine Bluff for 16 years. Mrs. Sanders was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the 20th Century Study Club and the Thursday Bridge Club. Mrs. Sanders also enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Ross Sanders; son, John William "Bill" Sanders; grandson, John Sanders; brother, John C. "Bill" Larkin; two sisters, Addie Joyner and Violet Streit; and her parents. Survivors include her granddaughter, Jean Sanders Brown (Bobby) of Hot Springs; and four great-grandchildren, Rebecca Rhea Brown, Natalie Brown, William Sanders, III and Sarah Sanders. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Kenneth Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. until service time at First Baptist. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 6501 South Hazel Street, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
