Mary Katherine Campbell, better known as "Katie" was born October 7, 1920 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Henry and Louise Kassler. She died September 8, 2014, while traveling in Oregon. She was 93 years old. The former "Katie" was a 1937 graduate of Little Rock High School where she played basketball. She continued as a life-long learner in various walks of life, as a wife, mother, family member, friend, Sunday school teacher, boy and girl scout leader, award winner cook, avid Razorback fan, and last but not least a Christian in all facets of her life. She was a retired rural mail carrier serving at one time all the routes in Little Rock. Her life was full of volunteer work in church and civil organizations. Her life was totally Christ-centered. She was a member of Geyer Springs Methodist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas since 1948, but attended faithfully the Fellowship Church of Lowell, Arkansas since 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Louise Kassler, her sisters, Margaret Weathers, Lucretia Kassler, Mildred Kassler, Patsy Benton, and brothers, Henry Kassler, Fred Kassler. She was married to James Robert Campbell who preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Magers of Wallin, Tennessee; another daughter, Susan Lushbaugh and Terry Spencer of Lowell; a son, James R. Campbell, Jr. and Bobbie Campbell of Keller, Texas. Grandchildren: Robert Addair, Aubrey Noorian, Chad Russell, Kurt Russell, Alicia Kelly, James R. Campbell III, Douglas Lushbaugh and Nathan Allen; and eight great grandchildren. Also, survived by one brother, Lloyd Kassler, one sister, Rose Goad, and three sisters-in-law, Marge Kassler, Donna Kassler, and Beth Kassler. Memorials may be made to the Samaritan Community Center 100 N. Dixieland Rd., Lowell, Arkansas 72745 and/or the Geyer Springs Methodist Church, 5500 Geyer Springs Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209. A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Bible Church in Lowell on Saturday Sept. 13, 2014 at 10 a.m. A visitation will be from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., at the Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home on 5800 W. 12th Street in Little Rock on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014. Graveside service will be 11:00 am, at the Little Rock National Cemetery Rock at Confederate Blvd., Little Rock, Ark.. on Monday, Sept 15, 2014.
