Thelma C. Wilkison

Thelma Wilkison, 90, of Searcy, Ark., died Sept. 11, 2014 at home surrounded by family and dedicated caregivers. Born May 18, 1924, in Craftsville, Ky., she was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Arkansas. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Vance Wilkison. She is survived by her daughter, Billie Birdsong; a son, Richard Wilkison; grandchildren, Lance Gilbert, Valarie Lynn Montez, and Eric Wilkison; sister, Hazel Payne; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family appreciates the wonderful care and assistance she received from Summit Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy with Randy Rankin of Foothills Church of Christ officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
