James Franklin "Jimmy" Holiman

James Franklin "Jimmy" Holiman, 68, of Benton, passed away September 17, 2014 at Saline Memorial Hospice of Bryant. He was born February 17, 1946 in Bauxite to the late Elbert and Lorene Steele Holiman. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Holiman and son, Wayne Holiman. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gwen Holiman, brother, Ronnie Holiman and wife, Lisa, two sisters in law, Pat Nash and Edith Holiman, long time friend, Randy Adney. Jimmy served in the United States Army two years during the Korean Conflict and was assistant Fire Chief for 11 years, worked as a Deputy for Saline County Sheriff's office for 2 years and retired from the Benton Police Department after 16 years as a detective. He also belonged to the fraternal order of Police, Order of Eagles, VFW Cooties and VFW Raymond McGill Post 2256. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 11 a.m. on Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Michael Warford and Rev. Victor Green officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home, Monday, 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. before services. Memorials may be made to the Adventist Community Food Pantry or the Charity of your choice.
