Jimmilee Griffith Wells, 80, of Little Rock passed away peacefully September 20, 2014 at Hospice Home Care with family at her side. She is survived by "the Light of Her Life" (her words until the very end) husband, Bobby Gene Wells Sr.; brother, Rogers Clark Griffith; sons, Bobby Gene Wells Jr. and James Ross Wells; daughters: Jimmilee Denise Wells-Gillies, Jaquelyn Delores Thompson, and Jessica DeAnn Riddick. She is also survived by grandchildren: Savannah Willis, Rebecca Wells, Colin Gillies, Benjamin Padgett, Kristie Wendt, Jon Thompson Jr, Sean Thompson, Jessica Elizabeth Riddick, Walter Garret Riddick IV, and Donovan Riddick; great-grandchildren: Tyler Padgett, Katelynn Padgett, Bailey Wendt, Logan Wendt, and Landon Thompson; and niece, Alijah Griffith. She was preceded in death by son, Steve Jackson Wells, and great-grandson, Adam Thompson. Jimmilee was born May 25, 1934 in Little Rock. She graduated from Little Rock High School and was a member of the Golden Jackets, played harp, and marched with The Tiger Marching Band. She attended Nursing School at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating in 1952, and later in life received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Anthropology at UALR. Her nursing career spanned over 40 years at UAMS, Baptist Hospital, Doctors Hospital, and St Vincent's Infirmary, mostly in the field of Neonatal Intensive Care. Jimmilee enjoyed and was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, music of all kinds, and traveling. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72227, (501) 227-6034 with a short family visitation following. Interment will be at a later date with a private family service at the Wells' family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jimmilee Griffith Wells' name to The Music Department at Second Presbyterian Church or NICU Foundation Account, Office of Institutional Advancement, Attn: Chasse Conque, 4301 West Markham St., #716, Little Rock, Ark. 72205-7199, (501) 526-7399.
