James E. "Buddy" Allison, our Papaw, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014. He was born on December 14, 1921 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Will and Ruth Courtney Allison. He was a graduate of Conway High School and attended Little Rock University (UALR). He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia Canant Allison. He was retired Vice President, Secretary and Co-Founder of Fine Papers, lnc. and former manager of Western Paper Company, both in Little Rock, Arkansas. A Veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, he served as a Battalion Sergeant Major. A 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, he was a member of Pulaski Heights Lodge #673 in Little Rock. He was an Ordained Deacon in the Presbyterian Church and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Conway, Arkansas. He is survived by daughters, Nancy Clowers and husband, Terry, and Janis Elms and husband, David; grandchildren, Keith Elms, Courtney Elms Nash, and husband, Ryan, Austin Clowers and wife, Stephanie, and Ted Clowers; great-grandchildren, Allison Rose Nash and Jackson Pilgreen, and a sister, Sara Ruth Allison Brown. He was a long time resident of College Square retirement Community in Conway. There will be a celebration of his life at College Square on Friday, September 26, from 2-4 p.m. Family graveside service will be at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, Arkansas. ln lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital, 800 Marshall Street, Little Rock, Arkansas or to First Presbyterian Church, 2400 Prince Street, Conway, Arkansas.
