Mary Frances Spinelli (Mimi) was born on October 8th, 1930 in the tiny town of McRae, Arkansas. In her early 20s, she made her home in North Little Rock and developed a passion for politics that continued until her passing. Some of her favorite memories include working for the governor's campaign in the 50s. Mimi was a die-hard Razorback fan who never missed a chance to watch a game. She was a dedicated member of Levy Church of Christ for over 60 years. She considered her grandchildren to be her greatest gift and you could see this in her eyes when she spoke of them. She was preceded in death by her husband William Anthony Spinelli, her parents Charles and Alice Thornton, her sisters Ila Mae Thornton, Ruth Pruitt, Sally Thornton, Hazel Inez Roland, and her brothers Andy Thornton, Oris Thornton, and Bill Thornton (ever the prankster). She is survived by her children and grandchildren, for whom she hung the moon: Sheryl (children Carson and Maddison); Gina (husband Steve, children Ashlan and Blake) Mark (wife Leah, children Will and Reagan); in addition to many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th at 1:30 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock. There will be a visitation at the same location on Sunday, September 28th from 6-8 p.m. Please share your memories of Mary Frances "Mimi" with her family online at www.griffinleggettresthills.com. The family thanks our wonderful caregivers Nichole, Brittany, Ruby, and Linda, and the Hospice nurses of The Arkansas Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations in memory of Mary Frances (Mimi) to Arkansas Hospice, as their care was truly a blessing to our family during this time.
