Frances Kristine "Kris" Copeland, 65, of Maumelle, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, after a protracted illness. She was born in Bremerton, Washington on December 17, 1948 to the late George Arthur Flem and Benetta J. Flem. Frances was a homemaker and a member of Highway 367 Church of Christ in Austin, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Basil L. "Skip" Copeland, Jr.; three children, Benjamin A. Copeland (Stephanie), Clinton A. Copeland (Krystal), and Talia-Lynn Silvey (Kirb Edward "Ed"); five grandchildren, Isabella, Drake, Ravin, Kolton, and Faith; father-in-law, Basil L. Copeland, Sr.; sister, Peggy Alexander (Donald); three brothers, Karl George Flem (Pam), Charles John Flem (Sandy), and William "Bill" James Flem (Tamela); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert "Bob" Basil Flem; and mother-in-law, Thelma Raye Copeland. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Private burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
