Mary Louise Hodge Rose, 93, passed away peacefully at her home in Siloam Springs, Ark., on Easter Day, April 5, 2015, to be with her Lord and Heavenly family. She was born in Mineral Springs, Arkansas to E.R. "Roy" Hodge and Anita Graves Hodge. They preceded her in death along with her husband of 63 years Andrew Rose Jr.; her beloved brother Eugene "Buddy" Hodge and his wife Nancy; a dear great-niece, Holly Harvell McDougal; and a sister-like cousin, Margery Jones Copeland. She is survived by daughter Carol Rose Umphress and her three children; Richard, Conor, and Mackenzie of the home; her son, Andrew Rose III and wife Marti and their two daughters, Michelle Kelley, Kendyl Brannon and husband Satch all of Collierville, Tennessee; her daughter, Marianne Rose Christopher and husband Mike of Jackson, Mississippi and their three children; Drew Christopher and wife Andrea, Amy Christopher Baldwin and husband Hardy, and Melanie Christopher Schade and husband Justin; and her daughter, Susan Rose Morris and husband Vincent of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and their two sons, Wes Morris and wife Tanya of Palmyra, Tennessee and Wade Morris and wife Lissa of Fayetteville, Arkansas. In addition to her four children, and 10 grandchildren she had 14 very special great-grandchildren: Michelle's son, Sean Kelley; Kendyl's four children, Tayler Brannon Morrison and Quenten, Cayman, and Emily Brannon; Wes's three children Madison Morris and twins Colton and Clinton Morris; Drew's children, Will and Ella; Amy's children, Emma Kate and Jack; and Melanie's children, Molly and Amelia. In addition she had a special niece, Linda Hodge Williams and her two brothers, Gary and Glen Hodge; as well as three dear cousins, Rea Graves of Little Rock, Arkansas; Charles Brown of Carefree, Arizona; and Suzy Pruitt, of Memphis, Tennessee; and former son-in-law, Richard Umphress of Dallas, Texas. She was a loyal wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. When she was not moving around the country with her husband during his thirty years in the Air Force, she called Texarkana, Arkansas her home. They moved there permanently when he retired and went to work for D and Z. She had grown up there, attended school and graduated from high school with honors before attending Texarkana Junior College. She was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church. Her primary focus in life however was her family, both immediate and extended. In addition to that she also served in many organizations. She was a Red Cross volunteer; a DAR member, and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Texarkana. She was also an active member of the Officers' Wives' Club at several base locations, volunteering as a Gray Lady at military hospitals, and assisted her husband for years in planning of the yearly Texarkana Pioneer Association dinners. She was most importantly a child of God, a loyal wife and a devoted mother. For this reason it seemed most appropriate that she passed away on Easter Sunday with the promise of resurrection and eternal life. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 13, 2015 at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texarkana, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Texarkana, Texas. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Funeral Home, Texarkana, Texas. To sign the guestbook, visit www.wassonfuneralhome.com.
