Edith Mae Carter

Edith Mae Carter, 85, a resident of Fayetteville, passed away April 9, 2015 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born Jan. 25, 1930 in Gilbert, Ark., the daughter of Elmer and Martha Killon Schlitt. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Schlitt and one sister, Ethel Watkins. Survivors include her husband, Howard Eugene Carter; three sons, Wylie Harrell and wife Elain of Redmond, Ore., Howard Carter and wife Diane and Billy Carter and wife Donna all of Farmington; three daughters, Cathy Bishop and husband Bob of Bella Vista, Sandy Cook and husband Major of Arcata, Calif. and Sheila Hunter and husband Roger of Farmington; one sister Juanita Young of Springdale; 12 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday April 15, 2015 10 a.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with Ron Fuhrman officiating. Burial will be in Farmington Cemetery, there will be no graveside service held at the cemetery.
