James "Jim" Robert Phillips, 83, of Springdale, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Feb. 28, 1932 in Fair Play, Mo. to James Edgar and Verbal McCrory Phillips. Jim was a General Sales Manager of Hiland Dairy. He served in the Korean Conflict and was a long standing member of the Kiwanis Club and the Elks Lodge. Jim's hobbies included traveling, dancing, attending sporting events, and socializing. He was a devoted grandfather who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and attending their activities. Jim was a member of First United Methodist Church in Springdale. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Phillips; one grandson, Kyler Thompson; and one sister, Alta Gordon. Survivors include one son, Kenton Phillips of Springdale; one daughter, Kaysha Thompson and husband Jeff of Bethel Heights; one brother, Mackie Phillips and wife Mary of Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Kourtney and Cooper Thompson. Graveside service will be Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery with Military Honors, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Springdale with Rev. Judy VanHoose and Rev. Audie Long officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
