James "Jim" William Parker, 87, died April 12, 2015. Mr. Parker was born in Nowata, Oklahoma on September 4, 1927, to Otis Leonard Parker and Eva Mae Warren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Parker and Wayne Parker, and daughter, Judi Lyn Parker. He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Hughes and Charlotte Stallings, and his children, Janine Copley, Jeri Mocsi, Lisa Parker, and Jimmy Parker, and three grandchildren. He received his High School Diploma from Fowler Union High School. While serving in the Air Force, he received his Rawinsonde Operator certification and excelled at his work as a meteorologist. While living in southern California, Jim enjoyed trips to Lake Isabella with his older daughters. After moving to Arkansas, he obtained his Master of Science in Education from State College of Arkansas in 1974. He valued his career in education as both a teacher and a principal. He was a licensed and bonded locksmith who owned Park Hill Lock and Key for two decades. Jim was an avid baseball fan for over 50 years. He made great contributions to his community working with Park Hill Christian Church, leading 4-H, sponsoring his children's sports teams, and working for the United States Census Bureau. Services will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery Thursday, April 16 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
